Preview: Chorley Women vs Leeds United Women

A return to league action on Sunday.

Leeds United Women turn their attention back to league action this Sunday, with a trip to Chorley.

The Whites are looking to use momentum for their National League Plate Final win over Stourbridge last weekend, to kick on and finish strongly in the league this season.

A goal apiece for the front three, Macy Ellis, Abbie Brown and Amy Woodruff, sealed a momentous victory for Rick Passmoor’s side at Solihull Moors ARMCO Arena.

Chorley find themselves at the wrong end of the table, they currently sit ninth, just three points above the relegation zone.

The Magpies will be boosted by a huge win last time out as a hat-trick from Jessica Gillin and a goal from Sophie Rotheram helped them to a 4-1 victory away to fellow strugglers York City.

Supporter Information:

For supporters making the trip, the game kicks off at 2pm at Blainscough Park, Coppull PR7 5EJ.

Alternatively, you can follow the action right here on, with highlights and match reaction to follow on LUTV, where you can also watch all the reaction from last weekend's cup final win, including a special edition of UNCUT.

Previous meeting:

It was an emphatic victory for the Whites in the reverse fixture at the So-Trak Stadium in October. A Woodruff brace, plus goals from Kathryn Smith, Ellis and Brown saw Chorley beaten 5-0.

Players to Watch:

Gillin’s hat-trick for the Magpies last time out saw her move into double figures with 12. She is responsible for over half of Chorley’s total this season (23).

Abbie Brown (14) is still the Whites’ top scorer, she might have her eye on the league’s Golden Boot award, she is within touching distance of current leader, Durham’s Poppy Pritchard (16).
