Leeds United Football Club is committed to upholding The Premier League Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Standards, (PLEDIS), values and expectations.

The club is committed to promoting inclusion and eliminating discrimination both from football and within our business. We take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination or bullying based on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital status or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. These are known as the “protected characteristics” under the Equality Act 2010.

Leeds United Football Club will ensure that it treats employees, officials, spectators, supporters and visiting teams fairly and with respect at all times. The club is also committed to providing an environment in which every individuals rights, dignity and worth are respected and in particular that they are able to work and watch football in an environment without the threat of intimidation, victimisation, harassment or abuse. It will also provide access and opportunities for all members of the community to take part in and enjoy its activities.

  • Equality is about ensuring that every individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents. 
  • It is also the belief that no one should have poorer life chances because of the way they were born, where they come from, what they believe, or whether they have a disability.

Everyone has something about them that is different. It makes no sense to discriminate or stereotype people because they are different from us. We are all from different backgrounds, but united in our support for Leeds United.

  • Diversity is about celebrating and valuing how different we all are.
  • Diversity is something that applies to everyone and should be part of everything we do. It is an important part of our work and not just a side issue. It requires everyone to play a full part. It is important to recognise that none of us fit.

Being inclusive is about following best practice so that everyone can get the most out of their experience with the club.

  • everyone feels valued. It lets people feel safe to:
    • come up with different ideas
    • raise issues and suggestions, knowing this is encouraged  
    • try doing things differently to how they’ve been done before

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion will make the club greater by:

  • Representing the communities it serves
  • Growing on shared experiences
  • Breaking down barriers
  • Increasing the fan base
  • Respect all of our staff and follow their instructions
  • Respect fellow fans and opposition supporters
  • Respect the match officials and the decisions they make during the match
  • Respect all of the players and coaching staff, on the pitch and outside of the stadium, from both sides
  • Do not place yourself or others in danger
  • Remember to act cautiously with alcohol, it can change your behaviour, threaten your safety and make you act differently doing things you wouldn’t normally
  • Pay close attention to your children and our older fanbase
