Savanna Robson: You can see the desire in the team

Defender chats after joining the Whites.

Having signed for Leeds United Women, Savanna Robson gave her thoughts on why she joined the club.

The 22-year-old left Middlesbrough Women to play for Dan O’Hearne’s side, excited by the ambition of the club as they keep striving to improve.

Robson started by introducing herself and stated what the fans can expect to see from her, on the pitch.

She said: “I am Savanna Robson, I am 22-years-old, and I can play right-back, left-back or in central midfield!

“I feel like I am a player who is energetic on the pitch and always striving to put 100 per cent effort in for the team, which is the very least you can do.

“When I am playing at full-back, I like to overlap down the wing, I enjoy attacking too and I think it’s a good aspect of my game!

“I hope I can assist for my teammates, score some goals myself, help the team defensively and give plenty of energy to the group.”

The new signing - who will wear the number 11 shirt - can go straight into the squad for the home match with Chorley Women this weekend and she can’t wait to get started after enjoying training this week.

“I am really excited to be at a club that are ambitious and fighting for promotion this season,” Robson explained.

“Leeds United are a big club with high ambitions so I always wanted to come here.

“When I first went down to training, everyone was great and they were working hard for each other. You can see the desire in the team to go out there and get the wins every Sunday!

“My ambition here is to try and help the team to keep winning. They’ve been doing really well this season so hopefully I can help to make things even better.”
