BAILEY PEACOCK-FARRELL: NOBODY HAS THE LEVEL OF SUPPORT WE DO

Goalkeeper praises supporters.

It has been an exciting 2018 for goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell who has become first choice goalkeeper at Leeds United and won his first international caps for Northern Ireland.

Speaking exclusively to the official matchday programme for Saturday’s fixture with Queens Park Ranger, Bailey Peacock-Farrell spoke about Saturday’s game, the support of the fans and what it means to play for Leeds.

Last Saturday how big a win was it against Sheffield United in the Yorkshire derby?

“It was a very big win.  In terms of the nature of the game it was a derby match and a huge game not just because of that, but due to the position of both teams in the league.  It was not only great to get the three points over local rivals, but we also created a gap in the league too.  We need to maintain our performances and build on the momentum to try and create even more distance between ourselves and the rest of the pack.”

In Saturday's game you have the opportunity to make it four wins on the bounce...

“Yes that is the aim, we have to keep that momentum going.  You only have to look at what it did for Norwich, it’s brought them right back into the fold.  We need to do that, the three points are there for the taking.  We know QPR are a good side and we have to respect them, they have been in good form of late, but the team we have is more than capable of coming away with a win.”

Finally, what is it like playing at Elland Road in front of full houses each week?

“That is the best bit, you don’t realise the magnitude of the club.  It is a massive club.  There may be players who have been elsewhere who have come to Leeds or players who have been at Leeds and then gone elsewhere and realise what it is and what it means to play for Leeds.  It is a huge honour.  To have the fans that we have is really special.  You look across the teams in the country and nobody has the level of support that we do.  The Leeds fans should be really proud of the support they give our team through the good time and the bad.  This is an important club and a big club and it is a privilege to play for Leeds United.”
