Pascal Struijk shows support at Beeston Primary School.

The Leeds United Foundation recently held another batch of successful half-term Soccer and Multi-Sport Camps, with support from Leeds United’s official principal partner BOXT.

The club’s official charity host a number of camps throughout the half-term holidays across Leeds, and BOXT have linked up with the Foundation to offer places for underprivileged children, sponsoring over 500 places for youngsters to participate in the camps for the rest of the school year.

To help celebrate the extended support from BOXT, first-team star Pascal Struijk was on hand at one of the sessions being delivered at Beeston Primary School, located just minutes from Elland Road. The Leeds United defender took part in some indoor activities with the children in attendance, before answering some of their burning questions around life as a footballer and his journey to Leeds.

Andy Kerr, Founder of BOXT, said: “As a Leeds based business, the city and its people are at our core, and we are committed to playing our part in helping them to thrive. As the official principal partner of Leeds United, we recognise the important role that we, and the club, have in the city to inspire and engage with the next generation.

“Sport is a brilliant way of bringing people together, breaking down barriers, and learning important skills that can set you up for life. We’re really proud to be supporting the Leeds United Foundation on this initiative and we hope by introducing the children to a sport which is so intrinsically linked to Leeds we will inspire them to dream big!

“It’s really important to us that these initiatives can take place over multiple school holiday dates, so that children all around the city can have the opportunity to take part and we can create memorable and heartwarming experiences for the children and their families.”

Gary Waddington, Executive Head of Football Development and Education at the Leeds United Foundation, added: “We are really grateful to BOXT for their incredible support on this project, which will enable lots of young children from underserved communities to participate in enjoyable physical activities within a secure and nurturing environment.

“It has been fantastic to watch the young people enjoy themselves during each session, and grow in confidence over the week, and we are already looking forward to the next camps at Easter.”
