Leeds United have partnered with Super League’s Wakefield Trinity as their respective charitable foundations aim to deliver a joint holiday camp during 2019.

The Leeds United Foundation and Wakefield Trinity Community Trust will work with children aged 5-11 who enjoy both football and rugby league at Kettlethorpe High School during the Easter break next year.

There will be a range of activities across four days and every child will get a unique t-shirt featuring both brands as well as access to a match ticket to watch their heroes in action at either Elland Road or Mobile Rocket Stadium.

The Football Development Manager at Leeds United Foundation, Gary Waddington, said: “This is a great chance for local children who love either football or rugby or both to come together and develop their skills. We are really looking forward to working with Wakefield Trinity Community Trust on this project and hopefully it’s something we can expand to further half-term holidays.”

Wakefield Trinity Community Trust General Manager, Craig Shepherd, added: “We are delighted to be able to partner with an elite brand such as Leeds United and their high quality official charity.

“Leeds United are well supported in the Wakefield district so to be able to offer a camp that will engage children in two popular sports, delivered by two huge brands, is unique not just to Wakefield but nationwide.

“It’s exciting for the children because they will get high quality fun sessions in both football and rugby, playing lots of games throughout each session. They may also have the opportunity to experience meeting some of their heroes with some special guest appearances. Nothing else compares.”
