U21s Preview: Newcastle United vs Leeds United

Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action as they travel north to face Newcastle United Under-21s.
Scott Gardner’s side were in inspired form last time out as they welcomed Derby County to Thorp Arch, racing into an unassailable three-goal lead at the break, before professionally seeing out the closing stages of the match.
Winger Joe Snowdon struck after 22 minutes to put his side ahead, whipping home a smart finish after superb build up play from forward Luca Thomas.
Moments later, captain Charlie Crew won the ball back in a dangerous position midway inside the Rams half, working it to fellow midfielder Sam Chambers and onto Charlie Allen, who crossed low for Snowdon to tap home his second at the back post.
On the half-hour mark, defender Reuben Lopata-White got in on the act, glancing Thomas’ dangerous set-piece in off the post.
That result puts the Whites just two points behind Friday's opposition, after Newcastle fell to defeat at home to Fulham in their previous outing.
Midfielder Jamie Miley levelled up proceedings for the Magpies at the Northumberland FA just after the hour mark, before goals from Lemar Gordon and Joshua King sealed the three points for the London outfit.
The two sides met twice last campaign as the Whites won promotion back to the Premier League 2, with forward Max Dean grabbing a hat-trick on home soil as United won 4-1, before playing out a 2-2 draw on Tyneside, with goals from Mateo Joseph and Charlie Allen.
