U21s Preview: Arsenal (A)

Whites travel to the capital.

Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action as they travel south to face Arsenal Under-21s, with kick off from Meadow Park at 7pm.

Scott Gardner’s side head into the clash 20th in the table, with games in hand on the sides around them as they look to push on in the second half of the campaign.

Last time out in league action, Luca Thomas' goal just after the break wasn't enough for United who fell to a 3-1 defeat against Sunderland U21s at the LNER Community Stadium.

The Whites impressed in that second half and took the momentum into last week’s Premier League Cup tie away at Chelsea U21s.

Battling from behind on three occasions, goals from Charlie Allen, Marley Wilson and Thomas again saw Gardner’s side earn a much-deserved point in the capital against strong opposition.

High-flying Arsenal head into the fixture with three wins in their last five matches. The run leaves the Gunners fourth in the Premier League 2 standings, although defeat against Wolves last time out saw them unable to make up ground on runaway leaders Tottenham at the top of the table.
