FAYC preview: Oxford United v Leeds United

Whites travel to Kassam Stadium.

Leeds United Under-18s take on Oxford United on Wednesday, in an FA Youth Cup fifth round clash at the Kassam Stadium (7pm).

The tie was due to be played last week, but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions across the UK, meaning the pitch was frozen and unplayable.

The Whites head south to take on Oxford, looking to secure a place in the sixth round after so far overcoming Accrington Stanley and AFC Wimbledon in previous stages.

Leeds defeated Accrington 3-2 at Thorp Arch, whilst extra time goals from Ben Andreucci and Luca Thomas, saw the Whites run out 3-1 winners against at Plough Lane.

Oxford United entered the FA Youth Cup in the first round and have so far beaten Torquay United, Horndean, Exeter City and Cardiff City to reach the fifth round stage.

A goal from Rashane Maxwell and a brace from Gatlin O'Donkor helped the U's defeat the Bluebirds last time out in the competition at the Kassam Staidum.

The winners of Wednesday’s match will progress into the sixth round of the Youth Cup, where they will face Manchester City away from home.

The match will be shown live on LUTV to LUTV Subscribers, but due to broadcasting restrictions this will only available within the UK.
