Leeds United Women are in cup action again this week, as they host Solihull Moors in the FA Women’s National League Plate.  

The competition is for sides who were beaten in the first round of the FA Women’s National League Cup. Leeds were beaten 2-0 by York City and Sunday’s opponents were also beaten 2-0, by Northern Premier Division strugglers Loughborough Lightening. 

The Whites have turned a corner since that cup defeat and are now looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games; Rick Passmoor’s side began October with back-to-back league wins against Bradford and Chorley, before a draw at York City was followed by last week’s FA Cup success at South Shields.  

Sunday’s visitors also come into the game in good form. The Moors are unbeaten in three since their cup defeat at Loughborough and currently sit third in their league after winning four, drawing two and losing just one of their opening seven games this season.

Players to watch: 

Lyndsey Ross-Baker is the Moors top scorer with seven goals in nine games, including a brace last time out as Solihull thrashed Arnold Eagles 7-0 in FA Cup qualifying. 

Leeds continue to share the goals this season, with five different scorers on target in last weekend’s win against South Shields. Abbie Brown is still the team’s top scorer with four goals, Amy Woodruff is on three whilst Macey Ellis, Olivia Smart and Sarah Danby are all now on two.
