Leeds United Women stormed their way through to the last eight of the County Cup with a convincing win away at Bradford Park Avenue Ladies. 

The Whites went into the lead after just two minutes when Kirstie Hunt headed in from a corner and Dan O’Hearne’s side never looked back after the opener. 

Sandra Soares-Martins came close moments after the first, before then slotting in number two on 14 minutes. She then got her second and United’s third three minutes later after cutting in from the left hand side and finishing. 

Kathryn Smith made it four after great approach work from Catherine Hamill, netting her first of the game as the Whites were impressive in the opening period of this cup encounter. 

Soares-Martins then hit the crossbar and Smith had her shot tipped round the post as the pairing looked to pile on more pressure.  

Bridie Hannon then headed in number five after 25 minutes, before Paige Williams showed a finishing instinct to fire home inside the box following a scramble from a corner. 

Jodie Hunter smashed in number seven as she broke forward from her defensive midfield position, before Sarah Danby made it eight from the penalty spot after the lively Williams was felled in the area.

A magnificent first half from O’Hearne’s side sent Leeds in with a convincing advantage at the interval

HALF TIME: Bradford Park Avenue 0-8 Ladies Leeds United Women

It was more of the same as soon as the second half got underway, with Williams and Hunter both going close. 

Smith got her second on 67 minutes showing a clinical instinct, before just seconds later Rebekah Bass had her shot tipped over as she looked to get on the scoresheet. 

Leeds hit double figures when Danby turned home after after Soares-Martins had her initial shot saved. 

Bass did then got the goal her play had deserved, finishing from a Smith assistant, before Danby completed her hat trick seven minutes from time.  

Bass completed the scoring after a neat one-two with Danby to get her second of the game as Leeds booked a tie with Harrogate Town in the last eight of the competition!
