Preview: Leeds United Women vs Stockport County Ladies
Season opener on Sunday for the Whites.
Leeds United Women host Stockport County Ladies on Sunday afternoon (2pm), in the first game of the 2021/22 Division One North League.
The Whites remained unbeaten in pre-season having scored 28 goals, including a 13-0 win over Farsley Celtic Women.
Dan O’Hearne’s side played five times in preparation for the campaign opener against Stockport County. They picked up wins against Wakefield Trinity Ladies, Farsley Celtic and Doncaster Rovers Belles. The other fixtures came against Hashtag United Women and Derby County Women, both of which ended in draws.
Last season’s meeting between the two sides was an enthralling match with Leeds coming out on top in a 4-3 comeback victory. The goal scorers on that day were Olivia Smart, Aaliyah Nolan, Rebecca Hunt and Molly Havard.
In the 2019/20 season the Whites were involved in another thrilling encounter with Stockport County at the Stockport Sports Village. The Whites were 3-1 down at half time, but staged a fantastic comeback and ended up winning the game 3-5.

The Whites will continue to play their home matches this season at the home of Tadcaster Albion AFC.
