Leeds United have signed Arsenal midfielder Sanchez Watt on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old joined the club on Thursday and will go straight into the squad for the weekend trip to Norwich City.

Watt made his first team debut for the Gunners in the Carling Cup against West Brom earlier this season when he rounded off a fine performance with a goal in the 2-0 victory. He featured in two more Carling Cup ties - against Liverpool and Man City - and was also an unused in Arsenal's Champions League win against Liege.

Sanchez also featured four times for Southend United during a loan spell in February.

Watt is a product of the Arsenal youth policy and, having been a regular in the Gunners under-18s, playing a part in their double winning campaign, he has featured regularly in the Arsenal reserve side this term, having scored five goals in nine appearances this term.

United manager Simon Grayson said: "Sanchez is a good, young prospect who Arsenal think highly of.

"He can play either wide left or as a striker and he brings extra competition for places at an important stage of the seeason."
