Ex-White takes up manager challenge...

Paul Dickov in training

Former Leeds United striker Paul Dickov has been named the new manager of Oldham Athletic.

The 37-year-old saw out his lengthy playing career at Elland Road last season where he featured four times for the club during the final months of the campaign.

Dickov, who made his only start in the home game against Millwall, had joined the club on a short-term deal in January.

United manager Simon Grayson had praised his influence around the training ground during his short stay with the club and said his experience was important at a crucial time.

A free agent, following his departure at the end of the season, Dickov has now taken up his first managerial role at League One club Oldham.
