Leeds United have a chance to get back to winning ways and put pressure on the top two as the Whites host Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship, with action getting underway from Elland Road at 8pm.

Daniel Farke’s side hadn’t tasted defeat in the league since the turn of the year, but that unbeaten run came to an end over the weekend as United were edged out 2-1 by Play-Off hopefuls Coventry City at the CBS Arena.

After falling two goals behind in the Midlands, Leeds halved the deficit late on through substitute Joel Piroe, but the Whites were unable to grab an equaliser as the Sky Blues’ defence held firm.

That result came after last week’s Easter double header, which ended with a memorable 3-1 victory over Hull City at Elland Road, with Crysencio Summerville and Dan James amongst the goals in the dying minutes of the match.

The weekend’s results leaves Leeds third in the Sky Bet Championship, just one point behind second-placed Ipswich Town with five matches left to play.

Sunderland meanwhile find themselves 13^th in the league standings, with one win in their last five outings continuing their inconsistent recent form.

Last time out, the Black Cats were held to a goalless draw at home by Bristol City, but interim boss Mike Dodds was pleased with his team’s performance, believing they deserved to take all three points.

The two sides have already met once this campaign, with Jobe Bellingham's second-half header proving to be the difference at the Stadium of Light.
