Preview: Coventry City vs Leeds United

A look ahead to Saturday's game.

Leeds United face Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday afternoon, in a 3pm Sky Bet Championship kick-off.

The Whites head to the West Midlands aiming to continue their fine form in 2024, having won 13 out of 15 league matches in the calendar year, drawing the other two.

Saturday’s hosts are in fine form themselves over recent weeks, as they continue to fight across two competitions, having already reached the Emirates FA Cup semi-final at Wembley later this month.

Mark Robins saw his side defeated in the 2022/23 play-off final and they now aim to reach play-offs once again this season. The Sky Blues are currently in 7th spot, four points behind Norwich City in 6th, but with a game in hand over the Canaries.

Last time out, Daniel Farke’s side had to battle hard against Hull City to claim the three points at Elland Road. Sam Byram headed home the opener before the Tigers equalised, only for late goals from Crysencio Summerville and Dan James to secure the win.

Coventry were defeated in their last outing, at home to Cardiff City. Ellis Simms notched his 17th of the campaign, but two own-goals from Liam Kitching ended their three match winning run.

When the two teams met earlier in the season, they went away with a point each. Both goals came in the second half, with Summerville finding the net first, before Bobby Thomas equalised shortly after.
