Team news: Five changes for Birmingham City clash

Starting XI announced.

Leeds United face Birmingham City away from home today, and boss Daniel Farke has made a total of five changes following our opening day draw with Cardiff City.

Charlie Cresswell and Sam Byram replace Leo Hjelde and injured Liam Cooper, whilst Jamie Shackleton, Ian Poveda and Joe Gelhardt are included over Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra.

Cresswell and Byram join captain Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk in the Leeds United defence alongside Illan Meslier in net.

A midfield trio of Shackleton, Ethan Ampadu and Archie Gray start, with Poveda and Gelhardt joined by Dan James in attack.

Our substitutes bench today features goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Kristoffer Klaesson, with new signing Joe Rodon also included along with Georginio Rutter, Cody Drameh, Hjelde, Lewis Bate, and Darko Gyabi.

Kick-off this afternoon is scheduled for 3pm, and for those not in attendance at St Andrew’s Stadium, you can follow the live Leeds United blog online here.
