Leeds United have appointed Daniel Farke as first team manager. Below, we go over 10 facts about our new boss, for you to get to know him further!


  • Farke’s win percentage in the Championship with Norwich was 51.4%, with a record of 217 goals scored and 153 conceded.  
  • In four seasons at Carrow Road, Farke used 75 different players, which included 11 directly out of the club’s academy system. 
  • Daniel has won the EFL Championship Manager of the Month Award once (November 2018), the EFL Championship Manager of the Season once (2020/21) and the LMA Championship Manager of the Year once as well (2021). 
  • The German has already managed over 300 matches at professional level, with Borussia Dortmund II, Norwich City and Borussia Monchengladbach. Prior to this he spent six years with lower-league German side SV Lippstadt. 
  • Currently 46-years-old, Daniel was born on October 30th, 1976.
  • Daniel has been promoted as head coach four times already in his career. Twice with SV Lippstadt and twice with the Canaries.
  • Starting his playing career with boyhood club SV Steinhausen, Farke’s position was a striker, and he went on represent six different clubs between 1994-2008. 
  • In 256 first team appearances during his playing career, Farke scored an impressive 124 goals.  
  • As well as having a lifetime of interest in football, Farke spent time in the education system when he finished his playing career, studying Economics.  
  • Farke has managed five times against Leeds United previously, all with Norwich, winning twice and losing three times against the Whites.
