Rodrigo netted a second half winner as Leeds United secured an important three points in the Premier League.

The Whites travelled away to Norwich and took the lead in the second half before being pegged back, but just moments after the leveller, the Spaniard struck the winner from 25-yards out.

Speaking after the game, Rodrigo was pleased to have scored and felt the win was fully deserved for his side. 

“I think it’s a very important goal, we needed this victory,” he explained.  

“It’s true that we didn’t start well in the season, but also true that we deserve more than we have at the moment. So, I am very happy with the goal but more so for the win. 

“I think it’s more than three points. We played a team in a bad moment also like us, so I think it’s a really important victory today and we are looking forward to the next game.”

The Spaniard was asked about the style of the side and whether the return of key players has come at an important time for the team. 

He said: “It’s true that we got some injuries in the last games, we still have some important players out, but this is the strength of the squad.

“We are prepared for everything and we are really happy with the win today. I think we are a team that tries to command the game, we have this style.

“I think we dominated the game for most of the time. I think we deserved the win and I think the team can be congratulated for it.”
