Leeds United claimed three points away from home against Norwich City, after second half goals from Raphinha and Rodrigo.
Marcelo Bielsa was able to recall Kalvin Phillips to his starting line-up to face the Canaries at Carrow Road, with the midfielder replacing Mateusz Klich in the team that drew last weekend with Wolves at Elland Road.
Both Jamie Shackleton and Raphinha were also named in the starting XI, after they had missed the midweek trip to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup through injury, but Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo were all still out of the squad.
Leeds had the first major opportunity of the match, inside the opening 10 minutes. Stuart Dallas slipped Dan James through on goal, he rounded Tim Krul and shot on target, only to see Norwich captain Grant Hanley clear off the line.
Norwich then had a good chance of their own, through their top scorer Teemu Pukki. Milot Rashica found space on the wing and whipped a cross into the box, the ball fell kindly for Pukki who struck his effort wide of the post.
Surging forward from right-back, Max Aarons was the next to have a chance. He broke into the box and found enough space to fire off an effort which was well blocked by Pascal Struijk.
The last chances before the interval came the way of Diego Llorente who saw a header go over the bar, and Rodrigo, when he struck from outside the box into the arms of Krul. Illan Meslier was forced to save from Rashica down the other end and then Mathias Normann shot wide moments later.
HALF TIME: Norwich City 0-0 Leeds United
Meslier was the first goalkeeper called into action in the second half, in the same battle that finished the first. Norwich were awarded a free-kick in a shooting position and Rashica struck an effort on target, but the ‘keeper stood firm and saved well.
Just over 10 minutes into the half, Leeds United’s number 10 scored the opening goal! A quick breakaway saw James collect the ball and play it out wide to Raphinha, who showed superb footwork to break into the box and fire low into the back of the net to put the Whites ahead!
The home side responded instantly, though. After his side won a corner, Rashica’s delivery saw Andrew Omobamidele connect well and power a header home via the underside of the bar to level the score.
But just two minutes after, the Whites were ahead again! Pascal Struijk won the ball back in midfield, Phillips picked it up and went forward. The midfielder passed to Rodrigo, who looked up, and struck home from 25-yards out to put Leeds back in front following an action packed few minutes.
As the game approached the final stages, the Whites made two changes. After making his first team debut in the cup at Arsenal a few days earlier, Cody Drameh was given his Premier League debut in place of Shackleton, whilst Adam Forshaw entered for James.
For the remainder of the second half, the Whites managed the game and their lead well, to deny the hosts any real opportunities as they went in search of a leveller.
With five minutes of stoppage time added at the end of the game, Bielsa’s side had to be alert throughout as the hosts sent everyone forward, but they remained solid and held on for a valuable and deserved three points!
