Marcelo Bielsa: There is always a motive to aim for the win

Head coach on Liverpool fixture.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media at his pre-match press conference, ahead of the Premier League match with Liverpool.

The Whites take on the Reds at Elland Road in what is expected to be a thrilling encounter between two attacking teams.

The head coach began by giving update on the fitness of his squad.

He said: “Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo and Mateusz Klich are all available. Robin Koch is not available yet.”

One player hoping to be involved following his deadline-day arrival will be Dan James. Bielsa spoke about the qualities his now winger brings to the side.

“I think that the decision to bring in James was the correct one by the club,” he explained.

“He will be available this weekend. He’s a player who can play on either side, that combines his ability to unbalance the opponent.

“It’s been two years since the first contact I had with his game, and he’s maintained these characteristics in a higher competition.”

Leeds are still looking for their first win of the season and the head coach spoke of the importance of getting three points in any match, with the help of the fans.

“To win is very important,” Bielsa stated.

“Winning is always indispensable, there is always a motive to aim for the win that is very determined.

“The affection the fans and spectators transmit in the premier league at Elland Road, you can see it for yourself.

“Of course, that makes you emotional and it increases the desire to want to win the game.”
