Head coach ahead of Manchester United clash.
Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media, prior to seeing his Leeds United side take on fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
Elland Road is set to host its first Premier League meeting between the two sides since 2003. With both the Whites and the Reds unbeaten in their last five league matches, an exciting reunion in West Yorkshire is anticipated.
Captain, Liam Cooper, will be missing due to suspension. The head coach gave a fitness update on the rest of his side.
“With Raphinha, we are controlling his evolution on a daily basis,” Bielsa explained.
“Up until now, he hasn’t recovered sufficiently to be able to train again.
“Rodrigo is in the last stages of his recovery but not well enough to feature this weekend against Manchester United.”
Sunday’s upcoming visitors were comfortable winners at Old Trafford in December. Marcelo knows what this big fixture means to the fans and is aware of what his side need to do this time around.
He said: “For every game, we go into it trying to score and trying to avoid conceding.
"Of course what happened in that last game, we have it present in our minds. You have to implement your ideas and try to impose them.
“You have to recognise the characteristics of the opponents forwards and try to organise our players on the field, so they can pick up the protagonists in Manchester United’s play.
“We’ve tried to match them up with players from our team who are up to the challenge of neutralising them.
“I know perfectly what it means to play in a classic game. There is something that has to build up through many years to lay in the feeling of the fans, and the effect that the result will have on the emotions of the people.”
