Eddie Nketiah: The fans are crazy

Forward speaks to the media.

Leeds United forward Eddie Nketiah spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Swansea City.

Nketiah has made a fine start to life at Elland Road, on loan from Arsenal, netting three goals in four appearances.

The forward has been pleased with his opening games in a Leeds United shirt, but insisted the best is still to come.

“I think it’s been a great start for me, the team are doing well and they’ve made me feel so comfortable so quickly and I’m enjoying my start to Leeds United and hopefully it will continue,” said Nketiah.

“I feel like I have done well with the chances I’ve had and that is all I can do, I feel I am ready and fit to play and all I can do is give my all in training and make a case for myself when I play.

“It’s been nice to get the goals out of the way so early and hopefully that will continue.

“I’m adjusting and settling into the team well, I am sure there will be a lot better performances than the ones I have shown so far, I think I can keep building, growing and improving and I’m excited for the future.

“I want to play well and work hard for the team, the team create a lot of chances here and I just try to get in good positions and I’m confident if I do play that I will always get chances and I work hard on my finishing everyday to get more goals.”

Nketiah also spoke about the Leeds United supporters, who have given him a warm welcome to West Yorkshire.

He said: “The Leeds fans are crazy, they are great.

“That has been a big part of enjoying my time here, with how quick they have taken to me.

“Even when I was deciding to sign here, the support I was getting from the fans in the media was great.

“I’m delighted for them to take to me so early, I’m going to continue to give my all and try to do well, so hopefully they will appreciate that.

“To have 30,000 fans in midweek for the cup game is top and I feel like it is a good platform for me to play on.”
