MATEUSZ KLICH: WE CANNOT DROP POINTS LIKE THIS

Midfielder on Stoke City defeat.

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich spoke to LUTV following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Stoke City.

The Whites were looking for back to back victories in the Sky Bet Championship at the Bet 365 Stadium, but succumbed to strikes from Sam Clucas and Joe Allen, with Ezgjan Alioski pulling back a late consolation goal.

Klich was disappointed with the result on what proved to be a frustrating afternoon for the Whites.

“Unfortunately we lost the game, we dominated the game but we didn’t create many clear chances,” said Klich.

“Stoke played very defensively, they were very organised and they were waiting for us, which made it difficult for us to create anything.

“When we lost the goal after our mistake- my poor clearance, he hit is perfectly and it was a goal, so it wasn’t a good afternoon for us.

“It was a great save from their goalkeeper (to deny Luke Ayling’s header), but we have to focus on the next games now because we cannot drop points like this, when we are the better side, but when we make mistakes it is difficult.

“Everyone knows what we need to do in the coming weeks, everyone is focusing on the games.

“We cannot drop more points, we need to be winning games and go on a good run again and I am very optimistic as we dominate in every game.

“Hopefully we can win a couple in a row and everything will be good again.”
