LIAM COOPER: MIDDLESBROUGH ARE A VERY GOOD TEAM

Captain on Boro draw.

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper spoke to LUTV following Friday’s draw with Middlesbrough.

Both sides had to settle for a point at Elland Road, with neither side able to get a breakthrough in the 0-0 draw.

The result means the Whites remain unbeaten at the top of the Championship and Cooper has called on the Whites to keep going after the international break.

He said: “It was disappointing not to win, but if we don’t win we can’t afford to get beat and we have done that.

“Middlesbrough are a very good team, they came and had a game plan, but I think there was only one team who was going to win in the second half.

“They put men behind the ball and I think we are going to get that a lot this season at Elland Road and we have to overcome it.

“We will take the point and we are top of the league after the first few games, which is brilliant, we just have to stay motivated, keep doing the things we have been doing well, keep the intensity and pull each other through.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable, every home game has been pretty much a sell-out, the fans speak for themselves and they were with us all the way.”
