THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: THE PLAYERS KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO IMPROVE

Head coach on Ashton Gate visit.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen is optimistic his side can get back to winning ways on Saturday.

The Whites head to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship, knowing a victory would see Leeds leapfrog the Robins in the table.

Bristol are one of the form sides in the division, having lost just once all season in the Championship and United’s head coach is expecting a difficult affair, but insists he has confidence in his squad.

“The message is of course to try and turn the negative results around and take a win,” said Christiansen.

“The players know what we need to improve on and what we need to do on the pitch.

“Small details and small mistakes can cost a game, you need a bit of luck at times and you need to take your opportunities.

“In our last three defeats, we had the possibility against Reading and Sheffield Wednesday to go ahead, but we conceded a goal just after our opportunities in both games.

“I have a lot of confidence in the players, they have managed to get to the top of the table and keep six clean sheets in a row.

“Despite us having three defeats, we still have the same group that got us to that position and they have to get us back there.

“From what I have seen of Bristol City, I am expecting another tough game and I think they will be one of the best teams we will have come up against this season.

“They have started very well and are in a good position like ourselves, they are unbeaten at home, which we will use as motivation, to go there, try and get the three points and boost our confidence.”
