THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: WE ARE THE TEAM TO BEAT

Head coach pre Millwall.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Millwall.

The Whites head to The Den to take on the Lions, looking for a sixth successive victory in all competitions.

Ahead of United’s journey to London, the Leeds head coach has called on his side to continue to thrive and improve.

“We are the team to beat of course, but we have to live with that if this is the position we would like to maintain,” said Christiansen.

“I like the pressure that is put on the team, my message to the players is to deal with it, it is not the same as being under pressure in first position, than it is in last.

“We have to get used to it, some can handle the pressure and grow with it and this is what we expect.

“All of the games in this league are different, but always very tough and we know we need to be focused 120% on what we need to do.

“We are Leeds, we are different and have our ways to achieve our goal, with hard work and hopefully at the end of the season we will all be satisfied and proud.

“I expected when I came here to do well, if you come to a new club believing you are not the right one or make the points that everyone asks for, then you are not the right choice.

“Overall I believe in my ways of work and to take this job in the best way possible and get my message across to the players, so in that view, I expected to have a good start.

“I am aware of how hostile The Den is and I have had good information on that, but in the end, it is on the pitch where we are going to play and we will do our best and focus on what is really important.”
