STUART DALLAS: ANOTHER LEARNING CURVE

STUART DALLAS: ANOTHER LEARNING CURVE

Winger on Ipswich draw.

Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas spoke to the media following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.

The United winger secured Leeds a point at Portman Road, with an equaliser just before half time.

Dallas admitted it was a hard game, but was pleased with the character shown by the team to fight back.

“It was tough from the word go, I thought we started the game pretty well, but they got the goal and we had to get ourselves back into it, again we showed we are more than capable of doing that,” Dallas said.

“We tried to play our football, but we were guilty of making too many basic mistakes and wrong decisions, which wasn’t like us.

“It wasn’t quite happening, so we had to change it a bit, but we believe in our own ability and how good we are, we were able to get back into the game, it was just unfortunate we were unable to go on and win it.

“It was a big boost to get the goal before half time, it changed the complexion of the game, if we had gone in 1-0 down at the break, the second half could have been a totally different ball game.

“The main thing in every game is that if you can’t win, you have to make sure you don’t lose.

“Our home ground is a fortress, we need to pick up as many points as we can at Elland Road and anything on the road is then a bonus.

“We went to Ipswich expecting to get three points though, we didn't want to settle for one, it is a different type of pressure now.

“Last season no-body here would have expected us to get anything here and now we are expected to win, it shows how far we have come.

“It was another learning curve, we are all looking forward to Saturday now and there is no better or bigger game to get three points in.

“The fans are coming out and backing us week in, week out, Elland Road is going to be rocking on Saturday and hopefully we can get the job done.”
