GARRY MONK: A VERY DIFFICULT PLACE TO GO

Head coach on Brighton trip.

Leeds Untied head coach Garry Monk is anticipating another tough game when his side travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday.

The Whites head to the Amex Stadium, having never beaten Brighton at the home they moved to in 2011 and have lost the last five successive meeting against the Seagulls.

Monk insists his team will be ready for the match as they look to gain ground on the team sitting second in the Championship.

"We will travel to Brighton the day before the game, but our planning and preparation is the same, we have the same amount of training sessions that you would expect,” said Monk.

"Brighton are where they are in the league for a reason, they have been together as a team for a long time now.

"They have a lot of experience at this level and the Amex is an extremely difficult place to go, they have a lot of quality.

"Each game for every club becomes harder and more important now, because teams tend to find out now what they are fighting for this season.

"It will be another massive test for us and our young group, but one we want to see the team come through with a good performance.”

The Leeds head coach also gave an update on injuries, with some good news on United’s captain.

"We are in the same position as we were ahead of the Aston Villa game."

"Liam Bridcutt has been training since the start of the week and it is good to have him back out on the pitches.

“I’m sure he is happy to be back out on the pitches as well, he has come back in good condition and we have to build him up to get him ready as soon as possible.”
