Alan Sheehan sees red at Yeovil

Alan Sheehan is facing a three-match ban following his red card at Yeovil Town on Friday night.

The Irishman was shown a straight red card following a challenge on Lee Peltier, and the club has received confirmation that his dismissal was for serious foul play, the punishment being a three-match suspension.

Alan will now miss the game against Gillingham on Saturday and the Play-Off semi-finals.

"I can't defend him," said boss Gary McAllister. "It's a poor challenge, especially in today's game. You can't put two feet off the ground in a tackle.

"He knows it and it's very disappointing. He's worked himself back into the side and done well. He's very disappointed.

"He's already had a suspension for 10 bookings and we'll miss him for three games now."

The boss must now look at his options at left-back. Andrew Hughes and Darren Kenton can both fill the void, but Ben Parker, who is on loan at Darlington, was also sent-off at the weekend and he would be unavailable for our game against Gillingham should the manager choose to exercise the recall clause in his loan agreement.
