AMT Auto sponsor kit for Foundation pan disability programme

First-team stars take part in session at Thorp Arch.

The Leeds United Foundation were thrilled to link up with AMT Auto recently as they hosted a special training session for their pan disability team at the Leeds United Training Ground.

AMT Auto, the vehicle solutions specialists, are the club's official secondary shirt partner and they have kindly offered to sponsor the pan disability team, supplying all of the participants with brand-new training and playing kits. The club’s official charity run two training sessions per week for their junior disability team, with the participants also playing competitively in the ability counts league fixtures once a month.

Leeds United first-team players were on hand to deliver the new kits to all of the children during their exclusive session at Thorp Arch, with Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, Connor Roberts, Illan Meslier, Ilia Gruev, Stuart Dallas, Joe Gelhardt, Jamie Shackleton, Karl Darlow, and Charlie Cresswell all getting involved, whether it was having a kickabout with them, chatting and answering their questions or signing autographs and having photos taken.

Simon Wood, Health and Wellbeing Lead at the Leeds United Foundation, said: “We have a pan disability team at the Foundation, which allows any players with physical disabilities, physical impairments or neurodiverse conditions like autism or ADHD, to come along and play football. It is an environment where it is inclusive for everyone to get involved, join in, and it is all about just letting people play football and enjoy it.

“It is a fantastic gesture from AMT Auto to sponsor and support us, and we are really grateful for it. What a football kit does is it gives people a sense of belonging, and now all the participants that come to the sessions have a training kit supplied by AMT Auto, which they will also play their matches in. So, they get to go out in the community representing Leeds United with a badge on their chest as Leeds United players, which is a massive boost for their confidence.”

Gina McGawley, Commercial Director at AMT Auto, added: “AMT is the official vehicle solution partner for Leeds United and we are just really proud to be able to support the Leeds United Foundation, community initiatives and inclusive football.

“We are so excited to be the first shirt sponsor for the disability team and it is great getting to work with Leeds United on schemes like this. Working with the Leeds United Foundation and seeing the children so excited today, they loved meeting the players, and getting that player involvement and supporting the team and being able to share the day with them today has just been amazing.”
