Foundation to deliver football coaching course for youngsters

Alongside Prince's Trust.

The Leeds United Foundation will host a new course alongside the Prince’s Trust giving youngsters aged 16 to 25 the chance to take part in the Get Started in Football Coaching initiative.

The club’s official charity will once again be running sessions for the I Can Lead Award, with the Taster Day scheduled for Tuesday 6th February and the course dates booked in from Monday 12th February (running till Friday 16th February).

The week-long educational course is perfect for young people interested in improving their coaching and communication skills, giving them the chance to meet new people, learn about sports leadership and gain the ability to develop a future action plan.

The I Can Lead Award qualification will encourage participation and physical activity, helping to provide you with a springboard into leadership, whether that is as a coach, administrator or official.

If you are interested in taking part in the upcoming February course with the Leeds United Foundation and the Prince’s Trust, some of the specific areas you will be focusing on will include:

-          ‘How to’ Coaching and Leadership

-          Session planning

-          The STEP principle – Space, Task, Equipment, Player

-          FA Four Corner Model

-          Health and Fitness

-          Officiating
