Leeds United supporters affected by cancer are being invited to share their experience as part of the club’s season-long partnership with Yorkshire Cancer Research.
 
The two organisations are working closely together to highlight cancer risk factors, signs and symptoms and screening to help improve prevention and early diagnosis in Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region.
 
Andy Howarth, a trustee of the Leeds United Foundation, recently shared his experience with bowel cancer to help and encourage fans to seek medical advice if they are worried about any potential symptoms they may have. Seeking medical advice at an early stage could help to save your life.
 
Andy said: “Cancer was one of those things that I thought would never happen to me. I want to urge other men and women not to ignore the warning signs, and not to be frightened. There are treatments out there, and an early diagnosis will save your life. We need to look after ourselves, and not ignore signs that we might be ill. If there’s anything you’re not sure about, go and talk to your doctor.”
