Skills Centre: Play like Jamie Shackleton

Foundation launch second phase of Skills Centre.

The Leeds United Foundation have launched the second phase of their newlook Skills Centre programme that helps youngsters develop their footballing abilities.

The programme consists of a number of 10-week footballing courses, with this the second in line focused around the art of being a midfielder and titled 'Play Like... Jamie Shackleton' - the young Academy star will make a special appearance during one of the training sessions as part of the 10-week course.

The Skills Centre initiative is suitable for all young people, male and females, but especially beneficial for players aged from 5 to 12 years. The sessions are delivered once a week and will be centred around improving individual skills, with a number of key areas for development, including; ball control, movement, passing and receiving and attacking and defending.

All of the coaches from the club's official charity are FA qualified and DBS checked and they encourage every child taking part to learn new skills, be creative, increase confidence levels, work hard, respect each other and most importantly have fun.

This 10-week programme will begin in January, taking place on Friday evenings from 6pm to 7pm, held at the De Lacy Academy.
