Liam Cooper to assist relaunch of Skills Centre programme

Foundation relaunch footballing programme for youngsters.

The Leeds United Foundation have revamped their Skills Centre programme that helps youngsters develop their footballing abilities.

The new-look programme will consist of a number of 10-week footballing courses, with the first course focused around the art of defending and titled 'Play Like... Liam Cooper' - the first-team captain is even set to make a special appearance at one of the training sessions during the 10-week period.

The Skills Centre initiative is suitable for all young people but especially beneficial for players aged from 5 to 12 years. The sessions will be delivered once a week and will be centred around improving individual skills, with a number of key areas for development, including; ball control, movement, passing and receiving and attacking and defending.

All of the coaches from the club's official charity are FA qualified and DBS checked and they encourage every child taking part to learn new skills, be creative, increase confidence levels, work hard, respect each other and most importantly have fun.

The first 10-week programme will begin on Thursday 28th November at West Riding County FA, running from 5pm to 6pm.
