Leicester City match dedicated to Level Playing Field

Supporting the Unite for Access campaign.

Leeds United’s fixture against Leicester City last week was dedicated to the Level Playing Field ‘Unite for Access’ campaign, as the club showed their ongoing support for the charity and the work they do.

Running until Sunday 10th March, the main aim of the campaign is to showcase the work being done by clubs to improve accessibility and inclusion across sport, alongside Disabled Supporters Associations (DSAs), supporters and other organisations.

Leeds United are proud to help our disabled supporters learn more about Level Playing Field, their aims for promoting accessibility and inclusion, and looking at how we can assist disabled fans in the future to improve the matchday experience.

Ahead of kick off, there was relevant information included in the matchday programme, with branded assets used on the big screen at Elland Road. Special guests were also in attendance at the match including youngsters from our pan disability team, whilst members of LUDO met with club officials to discuss the campaign and hard work being done behind the scenes before signing a new partnership agreement.

As well as the ‘Unite for Access’ campaign, supporters can also get involved by listening to the ‘Level Playing Field’ podcast, engaging in ‘Have Your Say’ conversations and finding accessibility information on Premier League, EFL and National League stadia in their ‘Club Pages’.

The Leeds United Foundation and Leeds United Disabled Organisation (LUDO) continue to work with the club and Level Playing Field to improve facilities and opportunities for those with disabilities in our local community.

Simon Wood, Health and Wellbeing Lead at the Leeds United Foundation, said: “Leeds United Foundation promotes a positive, inclusive experience for disabled participants in all our programmes. We are proud of working closely with Level Playing Field and the club to ensure that disabled supporters can freely access and enjoy live football at Elland Road.

“Having the chance to invite some participants from our pan disability, CP, frame and amputee sessions to be pitch side was a wonderful opportunity and memorable experience for all involved.”
