Leeds United Under-21s welcome Chelsea Under-21s to Thorp Arch in Monday’s Premier League 2 lunchtime clash.

It is the second time the two sides have met in three weeks, with Scott Gardner’s side earning an impressive 3-3 draw in London whilst on Premier League Cup duties.

Goals from Charlie Allen, Marley Wilson and Luca Thomas saw the Whites leave Kingsmeadow with a deserved point after fighting back from a goal down on three separate occasions.

United followed up that impressive display as attentions turned back to league duties the following week, picking up another point in the capital with a 1-1 draw with high-flying Arsenal.

The relentless schedule hasn’t let up since, with last Monday’s 2-0 Premier League Cup victory over Luton Town ensuring the Whites finished second in Group D and booked a Round of 16 tie away at AFC Bournemouth.

The miles continued to add up with that clash over the weekend, as the trip to the south coast rounded off a gruelling set of away fixtures in recent weeks.

In what proved to be an eventful evening in Eastleigh, Sonny Perkins' second of the night won it deep into stoppage time as United edged past the Cherries 3-2.

Luca Thomas was also on the scoresheet for Gardner's side, rifling in a stunning effort from 30 yards out.

Leeds sit 21st in the Premier League 2 standings, with games in hand on the sides around them in the table.

Visitors Chelsea meanwhile find themselves sat seventh in the league, 13 points behind runaway leaders Tottenham.

The Blues have won their last three league matches going into this one, beating Manchester United and Reading at home before edging past London rivals West Ham United away from Kingsmeadow.

Striker Ronnie Stutter leads the way for the visitors with seven goals in nine Premier League 2 appearances this campaign.
