U21s Preview: Luton Town (A)

Whites return to Premier League Cup action.

Leeds United Under-21s travel south to face Luton Town Under-21s in the final match of the Premier League Cup group stage on Monday (7pm).

Scott Gardner’s side have enjoyed a strong campaign so far in the competition, picking up three wins and a draw, with just the one defeat, in their five matches to date and have already qualified for the knockout stages.

Last time out in the Premier League Cup, the Whites fought back from a goal down on three occasions to earn a well-deserved point in a 3-3 draw at group leaders Chelsea.

United followed that impressive result up when attentions turned back to league action on Friday, as Charlie Allen's goal earned his side a hard-fought draw away at high-flying Arsenal.

The sides have already met once in the tournament, with goals from Allen, Luca Thomas, Sean McGurk and Lewis Bate sealing a terrific 4-1 victory for the Whites at the LNER Community Stadium.

Luton meanwhile have found form hard to come by in the Premier League Cup, losing all five of their matches so far. Last time out, the Hatters fell to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Colchester United U21s.
