Liam McCarron named in Scotland U19s squad

Elite Round qualifiers against France, Russia and Georgia

Leeds United Academy midfielder Liam McCarron has been named in Billy Stark's Scotland U19s squad for their UEFA Elite Round qualifiers in France later this month.

The young Tartan Army side will first play France on Wednesday 25th March (2pm, St Paul Les Dax), before facing Russia a few days later on Saturday 28th March (5pm, Mont de Marsan). Scotland's U19s will then round off the international break with a game against Georgia on Tuesday 31st March (2pm, Dax).

The UEFA European U19 Championship Elite Round qualifiers run from 25 to 31 March, with seven group winners progressing to the finals alongside hosts Northern Ireland. The finals will also act as Europe's qualifier for the 2021 U20 World Cup in Indonesia.

McCarron has featured 18 times for Leeds United's U23s this season, scoring two goals against Hull and Bolton, helping Carlos Corberan's side upto third in the PDL-North.
