Preview: Leeds United Women vs Chorley

Whites looking to get back to winning ways.

Leeds United Women return to FAWNL Division One North action as they welcome Chorley to the Bannister Prentice Stadium, keen to bounce back after falling to defeat last time out.

Battling both the elements and FC United of Manchester, Simon Wood’s side were unable to overcome the resurgent Reds away from home, despite Ellie Dobson's brace in the nine-goal thriller.

Before the loss in Manchester, the Whites had put together a three-game unbeaten run, including an emphatic 5-1 home success over local rivals York City which saw forward Jess Rousseau grab a hat-trick.

With four matches to go this campaign, United sit in fifth place in the league standings, twelve points clear of Sunday's opposition Chorley.

The Lancashire outfit have form found hard to come by of late, picking up just one win in their last five outings.

A 2-0 loss away at promotion-chasing Hull City Ladies made it back-to-back defeats for Chorley, after losing by three goals on the road at Middlesbrough previously.

The two sides have already met once this campaign, as Isabel Catlow's second half strike cancelled out Katie Astle's well-taken opener to grab a point for the hosts at Blainscough Park.

Initially scheduled to be played at the beginning of February, the original tie fell foul of the weather following a pitch inspection. Action from Garforth gets underway at 2pm.
