Versatile left-sided player joins the Whites.
Leeds United Women have completed the signing of highly-rated 24-year-old, Holly Housley.
The versatile left-sided player joins the club from Sheffield FC, who play in the league above the Whites. Housley was impressed by the vision and desire of the club to reach a higher level, so had no doubts about signing for Dan O’Hearne’s side.
Housley has previously played in the WSL earlier in her career and will therefore add experience and quality to a Leeds United Women’s side that have started the season in good form.
The Whites sit top of their league and are back in action on Sunday afternoon, where they take on Durham Cestria LFC at the Global Stadium in Tadcaster, and Housley will go straight into the starting line-up.
After strengthening his side with a new and versatile addition, Dan O’Hearne gave his thoughts.
He said: “Holly is another good signing for us, at a good time as well.
“She comes from the league above so she is used to the high-standard we want here. Having been training with us for a couple of weeks, we can see she has the quality to have an instant impact.
“Holly is a quick player, with good distribution and good experience. She’s had a few games in our Under-23s side to get her fitness levels up and we’re looking forward to new welcoming her in the first team for Sunday’s match.”
