Central defender Paul Huntington has joined Stockport County on loan until October 10.

The former Newcastle youngster has made just one appearance this season, at Darlington in the first round of the Carling Cup.

His last senior appearance came in the same competition last season when United beat Hartlepool 3-2 on September 23.

The 21-year-old missed the bulk of last season due to a persistent groin injury and it's hoped the loan move will enable him to play regular football.

Hunty joined the club in August 2007, signed by Dennis Wise, and has made 32 appearances since joining.
