BLACKBURN: COOPER EAGER TO CHANGE HOME FORM

Defender looks ahead to Thursday night's clash...

Liam Cooper is eager for United to put a halt to their winless run at Elland Road, saying "we have to come up with a way of getting a result" as they prepare for Thursday night’s visit of Blackburn Rovers.

Steve Evans is set for his first game in the home dugout, but the new head coach has inherited a side without a win on their own turf since March this year – a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town.

Cooper, pictured aboved scoring against Brighton last time out, was in the team that night against Ipswich and says he understands the fans' frustrations.

The defender said: “We’ve just got to find a way to get over this.

“It’s a matter of time before it clicks and it will. Hopefully it clicks tonight.

“The fans have a right to have an opinion on this. Leeds United should never fail to win a game at home in 11 games or seven months. It shouldn’t be happening.

“You can cover things up as much as you like or look for excuses but, on the whole, it probably comes down to us and our performances.

“There were games where we didn’t play well but there were games where we should have won. Somehow we have to come up with a way of getting a result.

“I don’t think we’re miles off but what has made it hard is conceding first and being on the back foot.

“I don’t know if it’s down to concentration or rub of the green but we’re as disappointed about it as anyone. We’ve got to get through it.

“I saw the gaffer say in the press that it’s a disgrace and I think we all agree with him.

“No-one should like coming to Elland Road or be seeing it as an easy game. That’s wrong.”
