Glen Kamara: Everyone is looking forward to it

Midfielder looks ahead to Sunday’s final.

Leeds United are one match away from an immediate return to the Premier League as they travel to Wembley to face Southampton in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final.

Third place faces fourth under the famous arch in the capital, with the Whites booking their spot in the showpiece event after a resounding second-leg victory over Norwich City at Elland Road in the semi-final.

Finland international Glen Kamara starred in both legs against the Canaries and ahead of the final, the midfielder spoke with LUTV.

“I feel like everyone knows the task ahead and everyone is looking forward to it,” said the 28-year-old.

“It was a big win at home and the fans were great. Everyone played really well and we are all looking forward to it.

“Getting to meet new people, a new manager and new coaches, a new city, it has been a good season.

“Obviously, we didn’t get to where we wanted to get to with automatic promotion but we have another chance on Sunday. You have got to go out at a level and perform and the expectations are high here.

“Getting to the Premier League is the dream for the club, for the city, for the players and the staff, so we are all looking forward to it and hopefully it is a good one.

“The whole plan was to go up and like I said, we didn’t go up automatically, but we have another chance on Sunday.

“It is a one-off game, a final, and the expectations are high. It is definitely going to be different to the two games we have played against them both home and away.

“They have some good players, with a style and a structure, and they all know what they are doing. They have got some good players, but obviously so do we too so I fancy our chances.

“On Thursday, and in many other games, I feel like the fans have been our twelfth man and really helped us on the pitch.

“When we walked out and you could see all the scarves and everyone singing, the atmosphere was top. I’m sure they will be there on Sunday to help again.”
