Blackburn Rovers: Match officials announced

Appointments made for Saturday’s fixture.

The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers have been confirmed, with James Bell set to take charge at Elland Road.

Bell has refereed just one fixture involving the Whites to date: October's emphatic 4-1 West Yorkshire derby success over rivals Huddersfield Town at Elland Road.

A stunning opening 45 minutes had seen Daniel Farke's side go into the break four goals to the good with Crysencio Summerville and Dan James each grabbing a brace, before Michal Helik pulled a consolation back for the Terriers after the interval.

Blackburn have played two matches when the South Yorkshire-based official has been in the middle, winning both starting with a 4-0 home victory over Hartlepool United in last season's EFL Cup first round.

The Lancashire outfit then followed that up with a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough earlier this season, with Sky Bet Championship top scorer Sammie Szmodics netting twice at Ewood Park.

A Select Group 2 Referee, Bell officiated the 2019/20 National League Play-Off final, which saw Harrogate Town book their spot in the EFL after beating Notts County 3-1 at Wembley.
