Daniel Farke: We have to be on it

Manager gives his thoughts on Sunderland match.

Leeds United face Sunderland on Tuesday evening at Elland Road, with just five matches remaining of the Sky Bet Championship campaign for Daniel Farke’s side.

The Whites will be looking to return to winning ways after defeat against Coventry City last time out, against a Black Cats side who proved to be tough opposition earlier in the campaign.

Speaking ahead of facing their upcoming opponents, Farke gave his thoughts on the game to the media.

He said: “They have many, many good players.

“They had many really good periods during the season, but obviously not the best period in the last weeks and last month.

“They play perhaps even without having much to lose and without pressure, they can play with freedom.

“And for that, I’m quite respectful and also know how difficult it is to win points out of them, after the first leg against them.

“Yes, we have to be on it, that’s definitely for sure.”

With five matches remaining, the boss called upon everyone to remain together, especially in the upcoming matches at Elland Road.

"If I can give one message, we have to make sure as a group of players, as staff members, we are together with our supporters.

“If you really want something to cheer about at the end of the season, let's make sure that we play this last three home games like cup finals.

“Make sure that we have the best possible atmosphere ever.

"Our supporters, if they really want to celebrate in the end of season together with us, make sure if it's in any way possible that you guys carry us also through, even a bit in challenging periods during the game.”
