Patrick Bamford's 2024 got off to the perfect start for Leeds United, as the striker scored four goals in six games during January, leading fans to vote him as their Socios Player of the Month.

Either side of his worldie against Peterborough, which will be written down in the history books as one of the club's greatest ever goals, Bamford also scored against Birmingham, Norwich and Cardiff.



After a tough 2023 hampered by injuries, New Year's Day saw Bamford make his first start of the season against Birmingham, and the striker hasn't looked back, starting every game and contributing with goals and assists aplenty.

Bamford puts his run of form down to his increased minutes on the pitch, saying "I'm feeling good, I'm happy and I'm just enjoying playing football again. That was a big thing for me.

"Now it's just about getting back into it and getting a run of games under by belt. I always said, that I believed I would score when I played."



As the goals rolled in, the chants of "Du Du Du Du Patrick Bamford" filled the stadium once more, and the votes flowed in for January's Player of the Month award, the striker is appreciative for the support he's received from the club's fans.

“Honestly, they’ve been fantastic. They’ve been brilliant home and away, and that’s been important for us, as we’re going to need them for the games that we’ve got coming up during the remainder of the season.”

Any particular moment in January stand out? “Ha ha, I think the Peterborough goal is probably the one that stands out the best.” Do you keep watching that back? “Believe it or not, I haven't, I’ve moved on from that now. I’m just focused on looking forward, helping the side out as much as possible and get some more goals.”

With less than three months of the season left, the striker is very clear on his aims. “I just want to carry on playing, playing well and doing everything I can for the side. Then obviously we all know what the team’s aim is, so it’s just about how I can help us get there.”
