Leeds United have confirmed the signing of Joel Piroe, signing from Swansea City on a four-year-contract.
Having joined the Whites, we have looked over the 24-year-old’s career to date and you can find 10 facts below to improve your knowledge of our fifth summer signing!
- Piroe began his career as a left-full-back, before then moving to left-midfield, then eventually up to a striker
- In two years with Swansea City, Joel scored 46 goals in 96 appearances across all competitions, whilst also registering eight assists
- The forward won the Golden Boot at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2017
- He is 1.85m in height, which converts as 6ft 1’ tall
- Piroe has two club trophies in his cabinet having won the Dutch Under-17 Championship in 2016 and the Dutch Under-19 Championship in 2018, both with PSV
- He made his professional debut in December 2016, for Jong PSV against Achilles ’29
- Whilst with PSV, Piroe played in the Europa League and scored a brace against Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus
- Born on 2nd August 1999, Piroe becomes the seventh member of the Leeds United first team squad with a birthday in August
- Joel has represented Holland at Under-15, U16, U18, U19 and U20 level
- In four appearances across all competitions for Swansea so far this season, he has scored two goals
