Preview: Fulham vs Leeds United

A look ahead to Tuesday's cup match.

Leeds United take on Fulham away from home on Tuesday evening, in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup (19:45).

The Whites travel to Craven Cottage aiming to progress into the Quarter-Final stages of the competition, but will face a tough challenge against the high-flying home side, who will be aiming to continue their impressive campaign.

After being promoted back to the top-flight for this season, Marco Silva’s side have been impressive and are currently 6th in the Premier League standings. However, Tuesday’s FA Cup tie represents a different competition - in a tie that will be decided on the night.

There is VAR in operation for the fifth round match, with the other rules being that the game must be finalised on the night. If needed, it will go to extra-time and penalties should the teams finish level after the initial 90 minutes.

To get this far, Leeds overcame Cardiff City in the third round after a replay, then battled past Accrington Stanley away from home in the fourth round.

Fulham had a straightforward win in the third round away at Hull City, before then needing a replay themselves to overcome fourth round opponents, Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

These two teams did meet one another in a knock-out match last season. Leeds won a third round EFL Cup match on penalties in West London, after the two teams played out a 0-0 draw in normal time.
