Team news: Whites back in Premier League action

Starting XI announced at The City Ground.

Leeds United are back in Premier League action this afternoon as they take on Nottingham Forest at The City Ground, and head coach Jesse Marsch has made a total of three changes to the starting line-up following our last league outing.

Captain Liam Cooper is back in the side today, replacing the suspended Robin Koch, whilst Patrick Bamford and Luis Sinisterra start in attack for Leeds, taking the place of the injured Rodrigo and Brenden Aaronson.

Illan Meslier remains in net for the tie, and in defence Cooper features alongside Max Wober, Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk.

Tyler Adams and Marc Roca continue in our midfield, with Bamford and Sinisterra joined by Jack Harrison and Willy Gnonto ahead.

Weston McKennie makes his first appearance in a matchday squad today for the club, and he joins Georginio Rutter, Brenden Aaronson, Crysencio Summerville, Junior Firpo, Sam Greenwood, Rasmus Kristensen, Mateo Joseph, and goalkeeper Joel Robles on our substitutes bench.

Ahead of today’s game the first-team players will show their support for World Cancer Day (4th February 2023), as they don branded t-shirts during their warm-up, joining our official charity partner Yorkshire Cancer Research in helping to raise awareness around the importance of prevention, detection, and treatment.

The match will kick-off at 2pm and it will be streamed live on Sky Sports. For those not in attendance at The City Ground, and unable to watch the live stream, you can follow the Leeds United blog online here.
